M22 Capturing Place

In my Final Master Project, I explored how leveraging residents’ emotional and psychological connections to their neighborhoods, known as place attachment, could enhance participation in urban development processes. Through two iterations of cultural probes valuable insights were gained to develop the "IRIS-method" (Inquiry, Reflection, Imagination, and Speculation), providing a framework for capturing and analyzing place attachment. This project demonstrated the potential of participatory toolkits to improve engagement in early-stage urban development and conflict resolution.
